Ok, so you like my work and are considering booking me to be your wedding photographer. What happens next?

Firstly drop me an email or give me a call to find out if I am available on your chosen date. I get booked up about 6-18 months in advance for the key wedding dates in the year, so be quick.

If I am free then we can arrange either a meeting or a skype / facetime chat, so you can get to know me and see copies of my weddings albums and more examples of my work. The meeting usually last between 30 mins – 1 hour. I have a studio situated in Braunton where we can meet or if that’s not possible we can meet at a location more suitable for you, I’m very flexible. If you live out of North Devon, then I have more than happy to a phone chat or email chat to answer any questions you may have about me and my photography before booking.

If you wanted to book me as your wedding photographer there’s a simple booking form to fill out that forms a contract between us and a booking fee needs to be paid to secure me for your wedding day. Very simple. Once the booking form has been received and booking fee paid, I will confirm your booking via an email receipt

The next step is to sort out a date for us to meet up for a chat about your big day and arrange the pre wedding engagement shoot. Ideally I like to meet my couples before the big day, but if this is not possible then we can chat on the phone or a video call via Skype or Facetime

We are not sure about the pre wed shoot?
The pre-wedding engagement shoot is great chance for meet up before your wedding day, have a chat about your day and what you want photography wise on the day. I also get to prove to you that I can take amazing images of you both and this in turn will take a huge pressure off all of us on your wedding day. Images from these shoots are normally available for you 7 days after our shoot and can be used for guest books, signing boards or just as keep sake images.

I am not sure about the bridal prep shots.
Don’t worry, I use this time to get some details shots of your dress before you put it on, shoes, flowers and any other detail bits you may have plus just capture a few candid shots of you getting ready before your wedding. Most wedding mornings are chaotic and it’s my job to work around you and capture these image with minimal fuss. I am happy to come to you, home, bridal prep venue or salon as required.

On the day, how will you work?
I will arrive prompt, smartly dressed, normally smart casual or a suit if required and just get on with documenting the day in my own style, blending in rather than standing out and shouting all the time. I will keep the informal formals to a minimum and take up no more than 30 mins of your time for these. We will mutually agree on what formal style shots you require before your wedding day, but if not I am more than happy to suggest a shoot list.
After the meal around sunset at a suitable time, I would like a further 10-20 mins of you time so we can find a suitable location and capture some awesome timeless couples portrait shots. These will be the “wow” shots of the day, obviously a sunset shot is the ultimate goal on your wedding day but it’s all weather and location dependent. But if there’s no sunset, don’t worry I am very creative and do my best to create that WOW shot for you, no matter what.

What happens after our wedding?
After the day the hard part for me begins. The task of backing up and sorting all your images is where it begins. The day after your wedding I share with you a few sneak preview images from your day, so you can share them family and friends, whilst I get on editing your images and you enjoy your honeymoon. The full final set of your images are normally ready 14-21 days after your wedding, occasionally a little longer if I have a lot of work on. In the first instance I upload the images to a private gallery and send you a link. I will then send you the full hi-res and resized images in a beautiful bespoke wooden presentation case containing your USB and some prints to get you started.

Can we get our images printed?
Yes of course you can, on the USB that I send you, will be both high and low resolution copies of all your edited images. These are yours to keep, print or share on social media as you see fit. I am more than happy to quote you for canvas or framed prints or direct you to the best place to get your awesome images printed.

We think we would like an album of our images.
Excellent choice, I always prefer to see my images printed rather than left as digital copies. I offer a range of albums to suit most budgets and tastes. Please contact me for more information. As a rough guide though, I supply only high quality albums designed using non template based software, so each album is unique in it’s layout. The album design normally takes between 2-3 weeks depending on my current work load. You will be sent a link to an on-line proofing site to view your album and suggest up to 5 changes if required. Any more than 5 changes are chargeable at £45 per change. Ideally I like your selected images for your album within 3 months of your wedding. After that I reserve the right to make the selection for you.
If you are happy with the design, then it goes to print. All my albums are printed in the UK and delivery from time of order is between 3-4 weeks. I will contact you once your album is ready to ship.
I can supply extra copies of your album or parent albums too but these must be ordered at the same time as your main album order is placed.
Simple and stress free.

Do you travel?
Yes I do, although based in the South West, I am more than happy to travel all of the UK and beyond. Weddings outside of Devon may incur a travel surcharge, but this is normally just to cover my overnight accommodation.

What if……?
In the event of anything going wrong I have a network of photographer friends that I can call upon in the event of myself being ill or unable to attend your day. On the day I also carry back up equipment in case of equipment failure. Plus I am also fully insured, with professional indemnity and public liability insurances. So no matter what happens we are covered. As I am a full time professional photographer I also take backing up your images very seriously, with several systems in place to store your images safely and securely for years to come.

Is there anything else we should know or be aware of?
That’s pretty much it, obviously there’s other bits in the planning of your big day that we go over and discuss, such as timings, locations, ideas, but we go over all of in this in one of our meetings.
