I would like to share a few images from a recent pre-wedding engagement shoot I had with Anna and Cameron who are getting married at the Tunnels later this month.
it was a great fun shoot, feed the duck down at the wetlands in Braunton but rather than reading my ramblings on the shoot I’ll let Cameron say some words about his experience.
Slightly different I know but I could write anything here and you may (or may not) believe what I write so for a true write up of the shoot why not one very nervous groom to be explain his experience.
Before I add in Camerons words I would like to add that I am really looking forward to shooting their wedding at the end of the month plus the planned surfing shooting pencilled in for the next day!!!
So without anymore waffle here’s the couples view of the shoot…
“Not long after Anna said ‘Yes!’ the reality dawned on me: I would have to have my photo taken. A lot. We would be the centre of attention and the focus of many a lens on our wedding day. That’s fine for Anna, someone who will photobomb at any opportunity, but not for me. In front of a camera, I turn into Chandler (Bing) whose smile looks more like a tortured grimace, hardly something to cherish on the mantlepiece forever!
With all of this in mind, we ventured down to see Matt for our pre-wedding photoshoot. From our first meeting with him back in May 2012, we knew he was an exceptional photographer and his style was perfect to document our day. Chatting over coffee for more than an hour, we immediately felt at ease and relaxed in his company. We also felt sure that he, of all people, would be able to capture an image for all to appreciate and not one that only my Mother could love!
On the day of the pre-wedding shoot, Matt spent time with us discussing our plans and getting to know us more as a couple. Although I was still nervous, we went for a wander to feed the local ducks. As we chatted happily, Matt ran ahead and began to snap away. I’m not going to lie here; I did physically recoil when the lens was directed my way, much to Anna’s amusement! However, Matt wasn’t put off and the photos speak for themselves. As the shoot continued, I became more and more relaxed as if it were one of my friends taking the photos.
The time that Matt has invested getting to know us as a couple means that he was able to capture the dynamic of our relationship (despite our rules on PDAs!) and we honestly can’t wait for him to be part of our special day.
So with those words in mind, enjoy the photo’s..
