My first wedding of 2016 at the ever stunning Tunnels beaches was for the beautifully intimate wedding of Simon and Chelsea.
As their day was only a small gathering they had only booked me for my half day package, which gave them coverage from bridal prep until the end of the speeches.
I started my day in the Tunnels own accommodation of the Bath House where I caught up with the girls getting ready. I always love this time of the day on a wedding, the excitement, the nerves and most importantly capturing those images the groom doesn’t get to see.
Focusing on the details of the day I let the girls just get ready and documented what was going on. Always looking for this interesting angles and shots.
Soon it was time for me to head down to the venue and capture the details of the day there and await the groom.
Sadly it was a rainy day so no outdoor ceremony, but as for the handful of times I have photographed indoor weddings at the venue, it is more than equipped for wet weddings. In fact the view from the middle floor is just as stunning as being closer to the sea outdoors.
As the guests arrived and the groom paced nervously it was soon time for that special moment of the walk down the tunnels for the bride and her father. Always a precious moment I need to capture, such emotion and love.
Our registrars here in North Devon do go that little extra to make each ceremony special and intimate and today’s ceremony was different. Simply beautiful.
After the ceremony it was time for a few relaxed family portraits and then off with the couple for the ever important couples portraits. I use this time to allow the couple some moments alone before capture the natural relaxed shots I love to deliver. With Simon and Chelsea the love was hugely evident and the images just happened. Love it when this happens.
Times flies so fast on a wedding day and before long the smell of the gourmet BBQ was filling the air and the nerves once again set in, this time for not just the groom but the brides father and the groom’s best man. After some touching and often hilarious speeches I bid my best wishes to the couple and allowed them party the night away.
I wish Simon and Chelsea all the very best for the future.
