Having spent the first 26 years of my life in Woolacombe, returning to the village and the venue I got married in is always a special day for me. So when Christian and Laura asked me to be their wedding photographer, I could have been more excited.
The day started a little gloomy but having been checking the forecast almost hourly in the run up to their wedding I knew the day would be a sunny one and we could make the most of the amazing surroundings the venue has to offer.
The girls were getting ready in the incredible loft room at the hotel, a huge room with amazing views over the hotel grounds and Woolacombe beach, only a short walk away.
It was so lovely to see and work with Hannah from Brighteye Beauty again, such an amazingly talented lady who did an awesome job with the brides makeup..
Time flew by in the morning and soon Christian was waiting in the Lundy suite for his stunning bride to arrive. The Lundy room not only has some amazing views also but the light in there is a dream for me. I love photographing ceremonies in in there, not matter what the weather or time of year.
With an emotional ceremony over and the formalities of the day done it was out onto the lawn to enjoy the hotels grounds and some drinks. I always love this part of the day and the photo opportunities it presents as the happy couple are greeted and congratulated by their guests.
Soon the MC for the day, the always amazing Mr Ray Wooff, was calling the guests in for the wedding breakfast, taking a non traditional route, the speeches were done before the meal, something I think is a good idea.
After the wedding breakfast the bride and groom gathered a small select group of friends and family for some more informal shots on the beach, I am so happy with how these came out, a very unique set of shots, something I always love shooting.
As the sunset I did manage to have sometime with the just the couple on the beach for a few more shots, including my favourite WOW shot of the day..
By the time we had returned from the beach, the couples evening guests had arrived and the band had set up ready for the first dance.
The couple had secretly taken dance lesson for their first dance and stunned the guests with an amazing routine that kept me on my toes capturing it.
What an amazing day and what an amazing couple. Mr and Mrs George, thank you so much for asking me to be your wedding photographer and I wish you both all the very best for the future.
Enjoy the images.
