I have shot a lot of weddings at the Tunnels Beaches this year and most of them have had the good fortune of reasonable if not perfect weather. So as the summer season went on the threat of a wet wedding was ever more a reality. Steve and Amie’s seaside Tunnels wedding was just such a day. But the beauty of the Tunnels is it can cope with weddings regardless of the weather.
After spending some time with Amie up at their rented guest house in the Torrs Park area of Ilfracombe, it was down to the tunnels to find the ceremony had been set up on the middle floor with all the guests seated facing out over the ocean. Despite not actually being outside I felt like the view from middle floor was just as breath taking and magical.
After the ceremony we did manage to sneak outside for a short while for a few informal / formal shots and a short stroll with the couple on the beach to grab some all important portrait shots of just Steve and Amie.
The rest of the day was spent eating some of the finest wedding food I have ever tasted, once again the Dom and Craig pulled out all the stops. The an evening of dancing followed…
Particular points I loved about Steve and Amie’s day was the colouring table laid on to entertain the young guests, a great simple way to keep them entertained. I also loved Amie’s dress, stunningly beautiful.. And on a personal note I am very pleased with the series of bridal portraits I got using one of the large natural light windows in the bridal prep accommodation.
