Paul and Dani’s Tunnels Beaches wedding was a rare treat this summer. The sun shone, all day, and all of the celebrations were held outside. Something I have only witnessed less than a handful of times this year.
The day started with both groom and bridal prep at The Elmfield Hotel a small boutique guest house in Ilfracombe a stone throw from the venue. Normally the distance between the two makes it impractical for me to get coverage of both, so today was a rare treat for me.
Once the lads were suited and ready they headed on down leaving Dani and her brides maids to arrive in true North Devon style, via “Monty”, the tunnels own resident VW camper.
The ceremony by the sea was as amazing as ever, the sound of the sea baking on the shore, the sun blazing down and a cast of close family and friends assembled to witness the marriage of Paul and Dani.
After the ceremony it was coronas and cocktails on the patio are before heading down to the private exclusive beach the guests had full use of. Once the handful of informal / formals were done I had a chance to whisk Paul and Dani away to another area of the beach to capture a few portrait shots without the distraction of guests cameras ruining the moment. Due to the tidal state that day we were able to venture further along the beach than i have normally been able to which was an expected treat for me to be able discover even more potential shooting locations at the venue.
The it was back up to the terrace for some mingling, more coronas and cocktails until the speeches. Once done it was then onto the BBQ wedding breakfast, which never fails to impress me. Exceptional quality and presentation as always from chefs Craig and Dom. Top marks as always guys.
The evening entertainment was a simple affair but perfect for Paul and Dani’s relaxed wedding. The stunning 3 tiered cake was cut as the sun was starting to set and the first dance followed shortly after, all on the terrace out in front of the venue. A very magic moment in all honesty. Not one I often experience. Whilst the light was at it’s best I took Paul and Dani down on to the beach once more for my favorite shots of the day, the WOW sunset ones. As the tide was high at this time of night, we headed down to the ladies beach for a different perspective on the sunset.
Once the sun has sunk below the horizon the fire pit was light and the guests spent the rest of the evening was spent dancing the night away, both on the terrace and inside the venue.
Such an amazing day guys, I wish you both all the very best for the future.
