On what was possibly the hottest day of the year this year I found myself in a small village just outside of Exeter preparing to shoot Vickie and Nathan’s wedding.
The bells at Cadbury church don’t get rung very often, the last time was back in the early 70’s and with only one or two weddings a year at the church it was a real honour to be shooting there wedding there.
My day started with bridal prep at the family home just a short drive from the church, as ever the usual mix of nerves and laughter were apparent, from there it was a shot drive to the church.
Once the ceremony was complete some shelter was sought in the ground trees followed by a confetti exit through the litch gate and onwards to the await bridals car which took us 30 mins drive to The Fox and Hounds Country Hotel in Eggesford.
The Fox and Hounds is such a lovely venue and despite the heat, shade was found and everyone enjoyed the grounds.
After the speeches were done the couple and myself took a stroll around the grounds to capture a few shoots then it was into the evening reception. I stayed for a few songs after the first dance then left the guest to party away in the beautiful evening warmth.
I am really looking forward to returning to Cadbury Church in 2014 to shoot one of the bride’s sisters wedding there..
