Ok, so you like my work and are considering booking me to be your wedding photographer. What next?
Firstly drop me an email or give me a call to find out if I am available on your chosen date. I get booked up about 12 months in advance for the key wedding dates in the year.
If I am free then we can arrange a meeting, so you can get to know me and see hard copies of my albums and more examples of my work. The meeting usually last between 30 mins – 1 hour. I am happy to come to you if your local or if you are from away then we can meet at a local coffee shop, or wherever, I’m very flexible. If you like what you see and want to book me, there’s a few forms to fill out that form a contract between us and a booking fee is paid to secure me for your wedding day. Very simple.
The next step is to sort out dates for our further meetings and pre-wedding engagement shoot. Ideally I like to meet you both once again about a month before the big day.
The pre-wedding engagement shoot will last between 1-2 hours depending on what ideas and locations we come up with. This session will really give us a chance to get to know each other better and have some fun. The more creative we can get the better the images will be and be something to treasure forever. Images from this session will be available for you to view online with 7 days.
Then it’s the big day. Just relax and enjoy it. I will arrive early, smartly dressed, normally a suit and just get on with documenting the day in my own style, blending in rather than standing out and shouting all the time. I will keep the informal formals to a minimum and take up no more than 30 mins of your time. We will mutually agree on what formal style shots you require. After the meal and before the evening do I would like a further 30 mins of you time so we can find a suitable location and get some more one to one shots. These will be the “wow” shots of the day. In the event of anything going wrong I have a network of photographer friends that I can call upon in the event of myself being ill or unable to attend your day. On the day I also carry back up equipment in case of equipment failure. Plus I am also fully insured, with professional indemnity and public liability insurances. So no matter what happens we are covered.
After the day the hard part for me begins. The task of back up and processing all your images is the first task. Your images are normally ready within 10-14 days after your wedding. I will send you a proof disc in the first instance. If you are happy with these, then I will make your private gallery live. From your private gallery friends and family will be able to view and orders prints or canvas prints directly from there. It is then down to you to chose the images for the album.
The album design normally takes between 5-7 days depending on my current work load. You will be sent pdf proof copies of each page. If you are happy with them, then it goes to print. This takes between 6 to 8 weeks depending on which album you chose, the Queensbury albums come from New Zealand and sometime take a little while longer. You just sit back and wait for the postman to deliver it.
That’s pretty much it in a nutshell, obviously there;s other bits in the planning of your big day that we go over and discuss, but we go over all of in this in the initial meetings. A couple of things you should aware of and need to take into account. Feeding me, please remember me, I am with you all day and need to eat. Also I am happy to travel anywhere in the Uk or world for that matter but weddings that are held over 40 miles from my home address may incur a travel supplement.
