I always try and send my couples a few sneak preview images the day after their wedding, just so they have a some images to show off and get them excited for the full set when they are ready, but I always sit here waiting for a reply from them, not sure why but it’s one of my most nervous times. Will they love them as much as I do, it is what they expected… So many thoughts.. So when I received a text message and reading a message on social media from Steph and Gareth after their awesome Tunnels beaches wedding, I didn’t need to worry, I knew I had delivered exactly what they wanted…
“Just seen your email. What you have done is beyond any words in our vocabulary! Please do share on your page so our friends and family can see them? Thank you a million times over!!! Xxx”
To say I had a smile on face the rest of the day was an understatement…
Anyway, the wedding day. WOW.. What a day. I started off at The Bath House for bridal prep, with the incredibly talented Maddie and Anna from changing faces in charge of hair and make up, but I have to say Maddie out did herself today not only did she do a flawless job on the hair but also turning her hand to a spot of flower arranging when an extra button hole was required. Amazing.. Always a pleasure to work with the changing faces team.
A short walk, yes walk Steph!!! (On several occasions throughout the day as I ran ahead to get in position for my shot, Steph was running behind me!!! Very funny!!) down the tunnel to a nervous groom, the ceremony took place on the terrace. No matter what the weather it’s always magical to see wedding taking place here.
After the ceremony the couple took a few minutes out and headed straight to the roof terrace, such a cool idea and it meant they had some time alone before the celebrations started. I was able to sneak up for a few minutes to capture some beautiful shots up on the newly refurbished roof terrace. Very cool..
With the tide out we were able to use the private beach to it’s full potential, using loads of places for the couples portrait shots, I love these shots.
As the meal finished and the sunset started to set, the local band the couple had booked failed to turn up, leaving us starting to make back up plans for the evenings entertainment, but instead a replacement band from 325 miles away and an 8 hour journey arrived.
I’ll admit I was a little sceptical about it all, but just meeting them and talking to them I knew they were going to be good. The Epic’s were their name and they certainly lived up it. Seriously talented guys full of passion and drive for playing some the best music I have heard at a wedding. A mashup of Seven Nation Army and Sweet dreams was a huge highlight for me. As I left the venue that night I heard a female voice singing, funny as the band was all male!! With half my gear packed away I ran back up stairs to see one of the guests on lead vocals, absolutely killing it with a version of Valerie, made me stop in my tracks.. Epic..
I’ll stop waffling now, let the images tell the rest of the story and finish with the hugest of congratulations to Steph and Gareth, thank you so much for asking me to be part of your wedding. Looking forward to catching up soon for some beers….
Have an amazing honeymoon.
Enjoy the images
